TIA PRICE (Team Lead)

I have been an educator for the past 25 years in Clark County. I have taught everything from prealgebra to AP Statistics, but I look forward to teaching all Algebra I at Durango HS in the 2017-18 school year. I love what I do and I feel it comes across in my teaching. I am extremely excited about being a part of the first annual NV Math Summit.

DEENA LYONS

I have been teaching in CCSD for 21 years. I currently teach Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, and Geometry at Del Webb Middle School. I love math because I enjoy the puzzle and challenge of problem solving.

  Favorite Ice Cream:  CHOCOLATE   

PENNY ROMONOSKI

Penny is currently cultivating life-long learners at Hyde Park MS. She has mentored many STEM clubs and activities, such as Rubik's Cube, Verizon App Challenge and Cyber Patriot. Penny strives to emphasize the importance of grit and growth mindset to ensure that her students develop a positive relationship with math before moving on to high school.

SARAH COURTNEY

I have been teaching for 16 years – 4 years at Las Vegas Academy, 4 years at Hyde Park Middle School and 8 years at Veterans Tribute CTA. I have taught primarily Algebra 1, Geometry and Algebra 2 over the course of my career. I have always loved math, especially Algebra, and am excited to be part of the Algebra 1 team at this summit.

CHRISTINE CORBIN

I have taught Algebra I, Geometry Honors and PreAlgebra for the last 12 years at CCSD. I have an engineering degree and love to bring real world experiences into the classroom. I love working with students and I am looking forward to a rich experience presenting and participating in the Summit!

CHRISTINA BALLARD

I have been teaching for 11 years. I have taught Algebra I, Fundamentals of Mathematics, Geometry, Algebra II, Algebra II Honors, and Math Applications. I am currently at Palo Verde HS, but I also taught at Bonanza HS for 5 years. I am really excited for the Summit because I cannot wait to hear about the great things we are doing in our classrooms.

JACKIE CORDOVA

Hello, I am Jackie Cordova. I am currently teaching Algebra 1, Geometry, and a math elective in a middle school setting.  This will be my 19th year in education, and my fifth year as a math teacher.  Every year I look for new and inspiring ideas and people, so I am looking forward to the math Summit as a place to learn and share ideas that could encourage great lessons.
